And I’m seeing things on Facebook like “what is it going to change anyway? Can’t feminists be more useful and help women in Saudi Arabia instead of arguing over details like these?”. Coming from a woman. I want to weeeep.
I can’t remember if at the army (that day we have to spend at the army that replaces conscription here) I had to choose between Madame and Mademoiselle (probably). What shocked me most was that they asked me if I was single, married, had a partner, or other on their paper. I don’t define myself by the fact that I have a partner or not so I put “other”. I’m not sure what goes into “other” but fuck that.
edit: Ah yes, non French speakers, “Miss” has been removed from all administrative papers, leaving only “Mrs.” now.
