La place publique ne pourra plus s’emparer des noms de naissance ou d’épouse pour stigmatiser les tardives célibataires ou les scandaleuses divorcées. Une véritable avancée pour la société qui va enfin éradiquer des usurpatrices notoires de son sein. Il va cependant falloir caser Coco.

I can’t remember if at the army (that day we have to spend at the army that replaces conscription here) I had to choose between Madame and Mademoiselle (probably). What shocked me most was that they asked me if I was single, married, had a partner, or other on their paper. I don’t define myself by the fact that I have a partner or not so I put “other”. I’m not sure what goes into “other” but fuck that.
edit: Ah yes, non French speakers, “Miss” has been removed from all administrative papers, leaving only “Mrs.” now.
